Dr. David Ruggles MD, FRCPC

Dr. Ruggles is originally from Nova Scotia and completed his medical degree at Dalhousie University in 1993. He then did a Family Medicine Residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland and practiced as a Family Physician in rural Newfoundland for 2 years. Dr. Ruggles then did a year of Rehabilitation Medicine training in New Zealand before completing 4 years of residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation training at Queen’s University in 2002. He then practiced in St. John’s Newfoundland as a general Physiatrist for 6 years before returning to Kingston and the Department of Physical Medicine at Queen’s University in 2008.

During his residency training at Queen’s, Dr. Ruggles also completed training in the subspecialty of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and subsequently became certified in this field after successfully passing the Canadian and American Electrodiagnostic Medicine qualifying exams in 2003. He has had an active Electrodiagnostic/EMG practice since that time focusing on entrapment neuropathies (i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar and peroneal neuropathies etc) radiculopathy, and generalized peripheral neuropathies (i.e. those associated with diabetes and other medical conditions).
